The Top 10 Worst Things that Can Happen in Your First Aid Class
Here’s a list of the top 10 worst things that can happen during your first aid and / or CPR class:
- The teacher doesn’t show up or shows up extremely late. Can you imagine? You take the day off and the teacher doesn’t show. Hopefully the teacher is okay and nothing serious happened but it is a miserable experience being ready for a class and all of a sudden it is cancelled.
- The teacher is unprepared. If the teacher is unprepared it can be a difficult class. If the teacher doesn’t know what to teach how good can the class be?
- The teacher is argumentative. If the teacher is arguing with the class rather than working with the class it can be an uncomfortable experience. An uncomfortable class can be rather difficult to sit through.
- The teacher is boring and only lectures. Only a small percentage of people will be able to absorb a class entirely made up of lecture. It’s also next to impossible to learn all the skills of first aid and CPR without actually practising the skills.
- Over confident classmates argue with the teacher regarding any first aid aspect. Having a classmate in the front of the class constantly interrupting and arguing with the instructor is never good. An experienced instructor should be able to mitigate this.
- You didn’t bring lunch and there is no where to eat. Make sure your first aid provider has somewhere good to eat in the neighbourhood just in case you forget your lunch!
- The class ends way too early. Doesn’t sound like you as your student got your moneys worth and likely the instructor missed some components. Both are not good things!
- The class runs way too late. A late running class can be for a number of reasons but usually can be because of a disorganized class. A good instructor can manage the class and ensures it ends close to the time it’s supposed to.
- You fail the test or the scenarios. It’s never a good feeling. If a student fails a class, unless there is a communication issue, it can be sometimes the cause of the instructor who did not cater to the students learning method.
- You register and complete the wrong course. Nothing is worse than completing a course and later realizing it wasn’t the course you needed!

In the case of dizziness, remember these tips:
- Sit down immediately
